music question-attn san antoino dopers

A coworker recently went to San Antoino on vacation. While she was there she saw a street band that was playing and selling CDs. Now she want to know who they were and what instruments they were playing. She described their music as ‘latin or spanish or mexican’ and also called it ‘rainforest’ music. They had two unusual instruments. One was a rainforest tube filled with beads or rocks that you turn over and can hear the sounds of the falling beads. The other instrument was something like a giant pan flute. It consisted of several 4-5 foot long tubes all attached.

Any guesses as to the name of this band, the style of music, or the names of these instruments?

There’s a couple of groups playing Andean style music around town. Just saw one a couple of weeks back but can’t remember their name. I know somebody who was at the same event and I’m waiting for a call back. If nobody else answers first I’ll get back to you. The tube thing is called a rain stick, not sure about the pan flute.
