Oh yeah, and bibliophage, why does this belong in the pit again? There’s not one pit-worthy statement in the entire thread. I don’t know whether or not you’re just getting your jollies from your recent mass of thread moves, but if they don’t need to be moved then don’t move them.
Ladyfoxfyre
Resident, the Pit.
There’s a tuner on that radio for a reason.
And dammit, Bibliophage, I want fresh mint in my next julep.
Ooh, ooh, and I want a pony!
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease?
You know, I could liste to dalovindj all day. I got no idea what he’s saying, mind you, but I love the way he says it.
As for rap music, I used to hate it, but since all my friends who used to be long hair metal freaks are now shaven headed gangsta rappers, I’ve managed to develope a tolerance. Of course, none of them listen to rap on commercial radio, thank God, so I’m probably being subjected to higher quality phat beats.
miller, my man…
you like rap?
im surprised…
errrr I mean…
Miller, my man…
You like rap?
I’m surprised.
sup Lfox…miss me?
First things first:
Who listents to rap? Americans, sporto. Rock is out, rap is in. It’s been so for a while now, too, actually. Hip hop is forging new ground while mainstream rock has pretty much stagnated in the past few years. Blink 182 = Green Day, Creed = Pearl Jam, and the parade of guitar hacking one-hit wonders marches on as unremarkably as it did in the late 90s.
Say what you will about mainstream radio, but if they’re playing it, it means that they’ve determined a lot of people want to listen to it.
The only rock the people give a crap about as of late has incorporated hip-hop.
…and djf, you really need to get over this thread. Stop trying to get a rise out of Miller and fox just by remininding everyone of your lowercase typographical style.
It’s over. Let it go.
Why do I suddenly have an urge to go read some old Herbert Kornfeld articles?
Someday, I will drive down the street, blasting Glenn Miller at top volume. I can’t wait to see the looks on people’s faces as I streak past them, “I’ve Got a Gal in Kalamazoo” blaring from the speakers.
These crazy rap music people. They don’t know people can be clever without being vulgar.
I’ve actually wanted to record a parody of rap songs called N**** F*** Kill* which would just be a long string of curse words and words like “kill,” “rape,” and “smoke” set to a rap beat, just to see if it would actually sell.
The rap you hear on the radio nowadays sucks. If you listen to REAL rap, like Tupac Shakur, Notorious BIG, Talib Kweli/Blackstar or Big L, with an open mind I think you’ll enjoy it more than Nelly, who sucks a big fat horse dick.
Thats not to say you’ll love rap, I’m saying that REAL rap isn’t shit like that.
Mobo, you need to listen to Talib Kweli and/or Mos Def (aka Black Star.) They are 2 of the best rappers ever. And they’re not at all vulgar.
you put a link to the thread and then tell ME to let it go?
nobody would have known what i was talking about if you hadn’t done that…
by the way, some rap is good, some sucks, just like all music…just as Qwertyasdfg stated
Well,** dumbfuck750**, you sure will say anything just to get that precious post count up, won’t you.
No, I didn’t miss you in the least.
Back to the OP.
I actually like rap, there is a college station here that rarely plays commercials, and when they do it’s for USC and they only last about 30 seconds. By the time I get up to find the remote it’s passed, and they’re playing music again. Just because of a lack of alternative, I listen to that station all the time and have grown to like most of the stuff I hear on it. They play softer hip-hop stuff from Blu Cantrell, to hard rap like DMX and Tupac.
It’s not all that bad, and if you don’t like it, then change the station or buy some tapes/cds.
He was referencing it so you knew what he meant. Probaly better than saying “that thread where you were an asshole,” since that’s probably descriptive of more than one thread.
Back to the OP: bobevilsquid, have you tried a different radio station? Where do you live?
Dammit, you stole my joke!
DJ, I don’t know why everyone is giving you shit for the way you talk. Keep it real. Don’t let them bring you down.
Yes, I have tried a different station, but since I live in a very small suburb of Louisville, Kentucky, I can’t get many stations.
methinks the lady doth protest too much
or something like that
i love you too, Lfox
he was referencing it because he wanted people to go back and read it again
i think he found it as funny as i did
and what does “probaly” mean?
Hey dalovindj, are you the one in the middle or the right in this picture?
I provided the link so people could understand what the hell your hijack was about, dj. I didn’t find it particularly funny.
Stop hijacking threads just so you can burp up old and completely unrelated arguments.
Consider this a warning.
