Music you listen(ed) to when high?

Hehehe. In part, it made me the man I am today.

I got in the car the other night, and this was playing on Sirius. I do love listening to it while high.

It’s been decades since I’ve smoked anything. But through the magic of imagination and imaginative music, I spend time in that same state, often while I’m drawing. Here’s one from my “Draw, pard’ner” playlist:

Iron Maiden was my goto “stoned” music back then, when I was young and not subject to drug testing. Dio was not uncommon in my music line up for those times also, but mostly Iron Maiden.
While I really did(and still do) enjoy Pink Floyd, that band was utterly boring to me when high.

I came across Coil independently from the thread, kind of got hooked on them for a little while, and then came back and looked to see if anybody had cited them. I’m listening to it right now… I can absolutely imagine listening to this while high.

Smear my body up with butter, and take me to the freakers ball!

I like the direction you’re heading, but for me I’d go with a smooth spiced sipping rum, a Davidoff cigar, and a Bubba Kush vape cartridge from the dispensary, while listening to an achingly serine, introspective Chopin nocturne with great emotional depth, like his Nocturne Op 48 No.1 C minor. It compels you to escape from the troubles of reality and enter a world of beauty and harmony.

Monster Magnet, Roky Erickson, Flesh Eaters, Divine Horsemen, Body Count’s first album, Royal Trux, Patti Smith, Stone By Stone, The Atomic Bitchwax, Spacemen 3, the first Mazzy Star album…

(I see I must’ve been too stoned to notice that this is a month-old thread, sorry 'bout that)

In one of those synchronicities, I am listening to their second album at this very moment (So Tonight That I Might See). But I’m not high (yet).

Vangelis, particularly Spirals. If you’re not high, then this will probably make you high, particularly if you listen with a good pair of headphones.

Vangelis - Spirals

I saw him while under the influence of mescaline. At Woodstock. So there.

We park our cars in the same garage!

Two words - Michael Hedges.

What? No one has mentioned King Crimson?

Some of you guys (a non-sexist pronoun to me) are so young.

The good ones to me are Floyd, Moody Blues, Beatles (of course), Crimson, Yes (especially The Yes Album and Close to the Edge). And oh so many others!

For classical, try Stravinsky - especially The Rite of Spring and The Firebird.

And yes, I’m old. Saw Hendrix at the second Atlanta pop festival, ending with the Star Spangled Banner. One of those memories of a lifetime.

I know these guys. There music is great on weed, if you don’t mind some unsettling parts. Tell me what you think!

Their*… ugh. I do that all the time.

You’re joking, right? Read the thread. There’s almost nothing from the past couple of decades. It’s dominated by classic rock.

You were mean.

I was going to answer but the forum will not let me embed media.
