A couple of months back, I had an epiphany moment in which I realized (not decided – there’s a difference) that my purpose in life is to make music. Since then, I have been busting my own ass like never before to improve my technique, fine-tune the material in my repertoire, write a lot of new songs, and meticulously transcribe everything using Guitar Pro. I’ve practiced guitar for at least an hour a day every single day for the past two months, and with the other musical activities thrown in there, it has typically been about 3 hours per day.
On top of all this, I’ve been spending the past few weekends recording tracks with a friend who just so happens to be a recording engineer in training. While we haven’t finished crafting an album, we have 14 tracks recorded, mixed, and freely available on my Bandcamp page.
If you don’t like checking out new music, join the club! I’m stubborn as hell myself, and I obviously don’t expect everyone to immediately flock to the site. However, if you like trying new things or getting the chance to peek into the mind of an aspiring Steve Vai wannabe, then come on down! If, in particular, you like…
… funky rock a la Red Hot Chili Peppers, you might enjoy I’ll Do It By Myself, Ready or Not, or The Main Event.
… somber songs for reflection and contemplation, you might enjoy The Bonnie Banks o’ Loch Lomond, Wasted, or Loss.
… progressive instrumental pieces, you might enjoy Whetstone, Storm Song, and The Aurora Affliction.
