I always love to hear these even though a lot of people think I am a complete nerd. Who cares? If it makes you happy, listen to it. That’s what a lot of music is for.
Moonlight Feels Right—Starbuck Flamethrower—J. Geils Band Everything She Wants—Wham!
Robert Palmer (almost anything)
And one I want, my sister order a compilation album of early seventies ballad type music…Seasons in the Sun, The Night Chicago Died, Billy Don’t Be a Hero…
Really cheesy remixes
Davinci’s Notebook (great acappella group but some really cheesy lyrics)
Moxy Fruvous
Wait wait, hold the boat. People here are listing Abba, Meat Loaf and Queen. Those can’t possibly be uncool! can they?
My musical tastes were never in synch with what my peer group was listening to. I learned a long time ago there’s no such thing as music (or movies or books or anything else) to be ashamed of. I still listen to albums I did when I was in high school and I still love them, as opposed to some of my friends who look back and cringe over what they listened to (and wore - never ever be a slave to the fashions of the day!)
I think the stuff that sticks out as odd is Yazoo - I’m a hard rock/metal kinda gal, yet I dig this cd. Its all about the beat…
I have an unabashed love for 80’s hairbands. Poison, Warrant, White Lion, the Scorpions, Mr. Big, Winger… I still love 'em all. Listen to 'em at every opportunity. Even found an all-80’s hairband channel on shoutcast.com to listen to when I’ve exhausted my CD collection.
I just have to make sure I listen to them when nobody else is around, that’s all.
