The amount of posts that I’m reading that have a lyrical quality to them is amazing.

I plan on putting Homers shrooms post to a trippy, laid-back groove, with an acoustic guitar, simple percussion, peruvian flute and didjeridoo.

Andygirls Lonliness post is just beautiful. I’d love to put something like that to music.

I have a little side project running apart from my band, **I am spartacus **
Myself and the Singer, have a drunken session band, called Attaque Espacio.

It involves us basically getting drunk and recording the songs we make up on the spot. Most are really bad, but some are awful. others are pretty good.

we have decided to put together around 20 songs, all under 2 minutes in lenght and record them properly onto a 4 track. I have to put the words to 10 of the songs, while the Singer does the other 10.

So, as I’m hopeless at lyrics (all my songs end up sounding like Eddie Vedder on prozac) I thought I’d get some inspiration. If I see something I like, I’ll either mail the poster, or ask here if it would be quicker.

anyone got any suggestions for what I could use?

this is strictly a fun thing. I’m never going to actually do anything else with the songs we record, we just want something to entertain our friends.

If you want Vedder on Prozac, Novacaine, Speed and Steroids, I’d suggest putting bj0rns ramblings on a musical foundation :smiley:

I agree totally with putting andygirl’s post to music. When you’re done you should send her a copy, she’d like that.

My suggestion is to put G. Nome’s more bizarre moments over a keyboard track, a la The Orb’s “Little Fluffy Clouds.”

Or how about putting sunrise’s overly-direct sex questions over a cheesy, 70’s porn-style bassline?

There is a wealth of talent. I’m looking for stuff that is poetry, but is not “poetry”, if you catch my drift… like Andygirls post, or the Shroom story, or Spider womans Fall post.

Some posters postings could only be put to free form jazz played by The Residents.

I thought for a second you meant the kid’s game - when the music stops, you all pick a thread & whoever ends up without a thread is out…you’d need some special troll music for that one though!

I’ve always wanted to try my hand at writing lyrics to music. If you’d like, I would love to receive an audio file of music you have already written and try to fit some lyrics to that. If you have something you want to evoke with the music (loneliness, anger, new love) tell me that as well.
