Joss Whedon, Neil Gaiman, and Ridley Scott. Objectively I can see they have talent in certain areas. But what they make does nothing for me.
Thank you! I thought I was the only one. All women must love her…apparently. Though I suppose it doesn’t fit because I don’t appreciate her music at all. I think she’s just a talent-less whiner. She makes me feel guilty because of the rape-y thing and I have this super strong dislike of her mostly because she is so popular among my peers.
Pink Floyd - I couldn’t possible state it better, so I refer you to Penfeather’s post #19 above.
The Beach Boys - I get that they took their genre and elevated it and I hear their influence in music from their time all the way to the present, but to me all their songs sound alike, bland and dull.
I AM a woman.
I do admire her for her work with RAINN, however, which also aids male victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Add Liz Phair to the list. That woman CANNOT sing.
Kate Bush. I like that whole artsy proggy genre so she should be an easy like for me, but her voice just isn’t interesting to me and her writing and music all feel like they’re trying too hard. I don’t get the genius praise and fandom.
