Hey!! Most of the time, you guys pontificate about earth shattering, monolithic themes; I just wanna get smooth, shiny, frizz-free hair. Yes, I concentrate on the important things in life.

Many Arab women I know have very curly, even frizzy hair. Often still beautiful though.
Except when it’s all Shakira-ed, brassy dried out fake bouffant bleached not-quite-blonde with roots as dark and deep as the cracsk in Mount Doom.
Yeah, **medstar, ** if you ever figure it out, please let me know. I’m definitely one of those women of long-ago Middle Eastern origins with very frequent Ethnic Hair Days.
There are some local herbal things around here. My wife and daughter a local soap a few weeks ago and like it. As far as shampoo or the like, I have no idea what it does, if anything. If you like, I’ll ask around about the details but have no idea what it will do. It probably won’t make your hair fall out or anything drastic but that’s ALL I’ll promise. S
All the best

I believe that’s a IMHO topic at best. However, I can report your impression of MENA hair is not accurate, you know a unique subset.
Oh well, I guess frizzy hair is a universal problem. But I tell you, the person who eliminates this problem is gonna win the Nobel peace prize.
medstar, to me frizzy hair is very beautiful.
I recommend you give it the treatment that Indian women use. In India, women have the longest, thickest, shiniest, beautifullest hair in the world. Even though it is so thick and wavy, they keep it under control. They wash it with shikakai. Before bed at night, they oil it with coconut oil, also with amla oil and bhringaraj oil. They brush and comb it, and get scalp massages with these oils and sleep like that, and wash in the morning. You can find these products at the Worldgate Nutrition Center in Herndon. E-mail me for details.
medstar, have you tried rosemary oil for its antifrizz effect?
Thanks, Jomo Mojo, I have several of these products at home and use them with great results. I hope you don’t think I’m suicidal about the state of my hair. It’s just that in Great Debates, solemn issues are beaten to death and it’s refreshing to participate in a thread about hair and makeup. This is a lot of fun.
