I haven’t shaved my upper lip for 50 years, so for the past 45 or so years I’ve sported a handlebar mustache. What were they called before bicycles were invented?
Variously: Italian/spaghetti, Hungarian/Magyar, Imperial, English or, most likely, just “a moustache”
The one called Chevron in that page is known in Spain by several names including bigotes de sargento - a sergeant’s moustache. Coincidence I’m sure, as the two names appear to have different origins, but it seems fitting
