Mustard has many more uses than ketchup in my own kitchen. Still, my fries (and the rare batch of scrambled eggs) would get awful lonesome with just mustard around.
Mustard wins — ever hear of ketchup gas? No, that’s because ketchep is a chump.
That’s right, ketchup is so weak I don’t even have to bother spelling it correctly.

I always thought cafes were places to drink coffee and have desserts and such. Not so much eateries with condiments.
Never heard them called pork fritters, but loved those tenderloins…such a midwestern delicacy…have tried to make them at home but they are never as good as in the Midwest…(sigh).
But the answer is MUSTARD and, usually, with pickles.
Ketchup, catsup, tomato sauce…whatever…isn’t that something you grow out of after you are 5 years old?

I vote early and often, so another vote for ketchup here.
I eat more ketchup, but Gulden’s and true Stadium mustard are heaven.
It doesn’t matter. I have mustard on my Hot dogs, catchup on my Burger and fries. Anything with cheese on it, Burger or sandwich, seems to need catchup. No cheese, then it gets mustard. Mustard is needed to spice up spreads like Tuna Fish, Egg salad, and other sandwichs.
Don’t forget Mustard on the Pretzel!!

If we’re comparing the cheap stuff, then it’s about even. The thing is, though, the best ketchup isn’t really any different from the worst, while the best mustards are so far above the cheap stuff that no comparison is possible. So at their best, or even on average, mustard wins.
I will concede that there are some ketchup foods which don’t work with mustard (scrambled eggs and fries come to mind). But then, there are more mustard foods which don’t work with ketchup (hot pretzles, spring rolls, any non-reconstituted meat).
And Jman? Where the heck do you get real Stadium Mustard, ten thousand kilometers from Cleveland? And why can’t I find any here?
A hot dog is about the only thing I use ketchup on, but I prefer picante sauce or salsa in its place.
Mustard (the spicy kind, especially if it has horseradish in it - not the no-taste yellow stuff) has many uses, including putting it on burgers and other sandwiches. But it is only an option.
The only thing absolutely necessary on anything that could be called a sandwich is mayo. And plenty of it!
Poll. Dumb poll, but a poll. Not about the culinary arts, unless you consider slopping condiments on your sammich to be an art.

Ketchup by a long shot! I can drink ketchup straight out of the bottle and love it! Mustard is kind of disgusting to me.
Ketchup AND mustard BOTH suck. I detest them both.
I prefer HP sauce. Or Kraft Barbecue sauce. either one or both…
