I am looking for an online version of “the mutiny aboard hms bounty” by william bligh. google has 15 billion references to the affair, but i can’t find the text. i’m convinced that the copyright is expired(!!) so, why isn’t it online? gutenberg project doesn’t have it and i can’t find it at bartleby either. … i am wanting to read it without paying money, can anyone help me find it?
Try doing searches for the follow-up books Men Against the Sea and Pitcairn Island.
no that didn’t work. i wanted…mutiny aboard hms bounty…the actual non fiction and the one by bligh.
I found a copy of Bligh’s book at our local thrift shop for about a half dollar. Do you have used bookstores in your area?
I can appreciate that you do not wish to spend any money, but sometimes you have to loose the purse strings a little.
Not all the books in the public domain are available as e-texts online. Somebody has to go to the trouble of scanning the pages, running the character-recognition software, and most time consuming of all, fix all the mistakes the software makes.
Go to your local public library. If they don’t have this title, they can probably get it for you through interlibrary loan.
I didn’t see it there now, but the Gutenberg Project is always a good first stop for old books that have passed into PD.
