Awwwwwwwwww.
I really hope that things get better for you and you find Dagny.

Dude, that sucks. I’m so sorry to hear it happened.
I really hope you find Dangy soon. My ex-wife’s cat went missing for 10 days once, and came back to the apartment as we were moving. Picking up the last load.
Is the apartment building giving you a month free rent in the new unit? If I was the manager & it was an option, I would definitely offer it.
Keep us informed how things go, I’m really concerned.
I’m really sorry to hear that this happened to you, Sleestak. I really hope Dagny finds you.
It’s great that you’re surrounded by good people right now; your family and your property manager sound like they’re coming through for you. You must be a pretty good person have those kinds of people in your life.
I hope things go better for you. And if you need any help in decorating your new place, feel free to call on the powers of the Straight Dope Gay Cabal and Coffee Society.
This is one of my worst nightmares. I have so much stuff that just couldn’t be replaced, and I can’t even think about losing my kitties.

slee, am I right that you were in Vegas (or are you in Reno right now)? This is total hijack, but if you need to go out for a drink or something with someone who isn’t family, I’m your woman. Also if you need small around the house things like blankets, etc.
Best wishes. Good luck. Seriously, email me if I can help in any way.
Man, Slee, that totally sucks.
My house flooded about 3 weeks ago and I thought I had it bad! There is nothing worse than a fire.
Best of everything, man. If there is anything we can do to help, let us know. My dad’s estate is going to be auctioned this coming Thursday and he had some household stuff I’ll be happy to send your way. Send me an e-mail if I can help.
Ugh. That’s horrible. There was a fire in my building a few months ago, but luckily I only have smoke and soot damage. It was at 2am, and very very scary.
And a note to everyone - home/apartment/condo insurance is generally very affordable, and no one should go without it. I am paying about $110 a year for $60,000 contents coverage and $35,000 loss of use coverage, and I upped the coverage to $70,000 at an additional cost of less than $1 a month.
So everyone reading this is going to go put smoke detectors in all the bedrooms, and some GOOD fire extiguishers, right? I found that like most things, there are good extinguishers, and then there are the junk ones at the cash register at Home Depot. This is not an area to skimp on, as you’ll probably forget for years to check if they’re charged.
Hey all,
Thanks for the good thoughts and the offers of help.
I have things pretty much fixed now except I still haven’t found Dagny. The food I leave outside the old apartment keeps dissappearing so I am hoping it is just a matter of time until I catch her.
I bought enough clothes to last a week and now I am just looking to buy a bed and a couch. Sleeping on the floor sucks.
Slee
Glad to hear from you–I was hoping kitty would be bag by now!
Too bad you couldn’t get a kitty-hidden-camera to see who is chowin on that food. Maybe you could booby trap it and scoop her up in a net like they do on those cartoons.
Umm…back by now,
BACK!!!
