My ass hurts, dammit.

Well, crap. Now I feel the urge to go give the doctor sixty bucks just to hear him tell me there’s nothing he can do about it.

But[sub]t[/sub]…:p…if it is a cyst (which it may not be), your doctor can do something about it.

Dagnabbit, I tried to find some good pictures of the cysts online, but could only find this.

My brother showed me his (hey, I wanted to see it!), and it looked to me like a big blister in the area highlighted in the link above.

Dead hair? A bit redundant, don’t you think?

I have nothing to add to this thread except…OW OW OW OW!!!

My deepest sympathies, Lightnin’ (and all the rest of you who have testified about butt-related injuries); I’ll be cringing for at least the next hour, vicariously.

YAY! Someone else here has the same problem! Woot!

(well, not that it’s something to be happy about, but now I know that I’m not the only one here!)

I know I’ve posted elsewhere about my back injury which includes the coccyx. Whenever it flares up, I pull out my “donut” and use it on any hard surface. I also can’t lie flat on my back because the pain’s excruciating.

And walking around? I’ve got that tingly-numb sciatica shooting down both legs

I only use the painkillers before bedtime.

It’s true, there’s not much to do about a craacked/broken coccyx. A few years ago one of the managers at the store where I worked broke his when he slipped and fell off the receiving dock. He was out of work for a year, returned, and ended up quitting (like I did) because there’s just no way he can physically do his job.

I’ve also been told that stuff like this stays with you forever, even after it’s healed. Your body is just never the same again.

:frowning:

That is NOT what I wanted to hear, Kiz.

I finally went in for an x-ray on last Friday- and my doctor called me up Saturday morning.

It is, indeed, broken.

There is, in fact, nothing they can do about it.

Currently, 800 mg Motrin is my friend. I’m not certain it really helps, but I like to think it does.

Apparently it’s going to be six-to-eight weeks 'til it gets better. sigh

Ohhhhhhhhhh…:frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

EEEK!

How are you feeling now? Don’t answer that if you don’t want to – I think I know…

I’m having my umpteen MRI next Monday, the earliest they could schedule me. Plus a referral to an orthopedist. My new doc thinks I might have bone fragments floating around

And I promise I won’t make you sit down

Oh honey…Sorry to hear that… :frowning:

Nothing much I have to add on the matter, as I’ve had plenty of back surgery, but never for anything that was broken. Good luck & try & get some Demerol. The hallucinations & sleeping will distract you from the pain.

Kiz- don’t DO that. It’s late, and I thought I was hallucinating (800mg Motrin makes you hallucinate?)… I couldn’t remember whether I’d seen your name here, or on the other board we’re both on.

Uh, not that I’m turning down the offers of sympathy, of course.

Now you’ve got to let us know how the MRI turns out, you know- it’s only fair. Gah- now my butt REALLY hurts… all I can think of is “My new doc thinks I might have bone fragments floating around.”
