My Bathroom Is Broken

The whole bathroom.

First, a crack in the tub liner.

Then, the tub was no longer made, nor the liner.
So, both a new tub & new liner were needed.

Then, we discovered that the previous owner had attached the shower panel to the wall in such a way, that the wallboard had to be cut loose.

Currently, my bathroom is disassembled, & in pieces on the floor, & the whole condo is covered in wallboard dust.

Last shower was Monday Night.

No new showers until…Friday.

The workman is an old friend of my Dad’s, so it ain’t a rip-off.

:frowning:

Already over budget, too. :frowning:

Shouldn’t this include a link to your “buy my stuff” page?

Ewwww. Is there a shower at your work you can use? A friend who can guest-pass you into their gym membership?

Yeah, just pretend you’re interested in joining the local gym. Tell them you need a 3 day pass to evaluate it. Shower there every day.

Tub works–not the shower.
But the workman…I have no hot water for the tub!

Heat some up on the stove – it’ll just be lukewarm, but at least it’s something.

Just use the garden hose.

Run a hose from another location for hot water.

Over budget? For some reason I thought you were renting. You aren’t paying for a bathroom reno in a rental are you?

Regardless, you should hang some sheets up or something to stop the dust from getting everywhere.

At least the toilet still works!

OK, hot water in, & caulking done.

Paint, sanding & misc to be done.

I hope, tomorrow.

Filth will be here who knows how long.

I once had a leaking toilet. Bought a wax ring for $1.29.

When we pulled out the toilet we found the floor was rotten under the vinyl flooring. So we had to pull up the floor.

To pull up the floor, we had to remove the pedestal sink. First a pipe broke back inside the wall while we were disconnecting it. Then the sink cracked down the middle when we detached it from the wall.

So the $1.29 wax ring turned into new floor, new wall behind the sink and toilet, new flooring, new sink and faucet. Total bill (without labor, we did all that)… $982.

I had the drain line in my only bathroom rupture thus dumping all the shower water onto my kitchen. Excellent way to start the day. I had to remove kitchen cupboards and most of the ceiling and then cut out/replace all the drain lines to the toilet, shower and sink. It was fun.
