My birthday, your cake. What'll it be?

Oh my goodness, where are my manners? Happy Birthday!!! I’ll have a piece of that German Chocolate cake with you.

I have a weakness for citrus cakes. Please make mine a 3-layer super moist, tart, lemon chiffon cake filled with lemon, lime and passion fruit mousse, covered in whipped cream and topped with passion fruit curd.

May have to make this soon.

Do have a wonderful birthday, nelliebly!!

Yay!

Happy birthday!

Hey, I know this is a stretch, but any chance you could make lemon angel pie? I make it for my son’s birthday when that falls during Passover. It’s similar to a Pavlova, but without the cornstarch and vinegar that i think they use. Or you can think of it as an upside down lemon meringue pie.

First, make a meringue pie she’ll, and bake it until it’s crunchy and a little brown on the outside, but still gooey on the inside.

Then make lemon curd

After the shell has cooled and the current has chilled, make whipped cream. Fold it into the cord to make lemon cream. Fill the pie shell with the lemon cream.

Then make some more whipped cream, this time adding a little sugar and vanilla. Layer it on to of the lemon cream.

Refrigerate several hours or overnight, so the crust softens except just around the edge.

If that’s too hard, I also like chocolate cake with fudge frosting.

Mmm, so many cakes how can I pick one?

Chocolate lava cake with a big dollop of real whipped cream and a few fresh raspberries to make it healthy!

Carrot Cake with creme cheese frosting.

My grandmother made them for my birthday for many years.

I do like German Chocolate cake and would happily eat a slice of Nelliebly’s cake.

The bestest moist cake is a Tres Leches! To die for!

I’ll have a slice of everybody’s cake. I’ll even make a huge pot of coffee!

longhair 75’s family chocolate cake recipe:

2 ½ cups flour
2 cups sugar
½ cup hershey’s cocoa
2 rounded teaspoons baking soda
1 cup soured milk (add a teaspoon of white vinegar to whole milk and stir. Do not use 1% or 2%. Trust me)
1 cup vegetable oil (Canola oil works well)
½ teaspoon real vanilla extract
2 eggs
1 cup hot water (add this last)

Combine all dry ingredients, then add the liquid ingredients. Pour into a 9x13 floured baking dish and bake in a pre heated 350 degree oven until a toothpick comes out dry, approximately 45 minutes.

It’s my birthday too. I like carrot cake. Happy Birthday.

Happy birthdays! Anything with a buttercream frosting is okay with me.

This. And my birthday (and my husband’s, and our anniversary) is in a week and a half. So I’m placing my order now.

Tomato surprise cake.

I hope you like the dark chocolate ganache I made for you and used on top of your rich white cake. I added a healthy dallop of Kahlua–a wonderful addition. It’s in my fridge, but if you’re ready, I’ll pass it over now.

Aw, thank you! I saved you a big piece. I made way too much frosting. If you don’t like that much, feel free to scrape it off.

Thank you! Good thing they had passion fruit at Safeway today! I like a good mousse filling. Hope that’s not too much whipped cream for you!

Oh, my, this thread is like a trip down memory lane! I haven’t made an angel pie in years! The first one I made was a mocha angel pie. The next one was lemon. How did I forget about these? Here’s a lemon one for you!

Ooo! I love chocolate lava cake, but it has to be timed just right. Ready? Here it comes!

Everybody will be happy to share, I’m sure. I have plenty of cake here. Thanks for the coffee!

I have made this cake before! Another nostalgia cake! My recipe was from 4H or something–not that I belonged to 4-H, but that’s what the recipe was titled. It was in the church recipe book from my late former grandmother-in-law. I used to make this with my kids when they were little. It’s moist, chocolate-y, and easy. Thanks for the reminder! Here’s the cake!

Thank you! My, carrot cake is popular! Here ya go!

Thank you! I hope you like marble cake. Nobody ordered one, but I was thinking about how long it’s been since I’ve made one. I used a chocolate buttercream, but if you’re not a fan, let me know, and I’ll make a vanilla buttercream instead.

Hey, you got married on your birthday? That’s so sweet! Here’s a cake for you!

Wow, a friend made one of these for my 21st birthday. I thought it sounded like a strange cake, but she was kind of off-beat. I was really surprised how good it was–spicy and moist! Hers had a vanilla drizzle on it, so that’s how I made yours. Hope you like it!

A small piece of generic chocolate cake and a small scoop of French vanilla ice cream placed in a pint glass, then filled with Guinness. A birthday/St Patrick’s tradition. Tastier than you might imagine.

Happy birthday Nellie! You already made my favorite cake, so just serve me up a big ol’ slice. I assume it’s made from scratch?

I had a boss years ago who found out I liked german chocolate cake and made some for my birthday. The frosting was so delicious I had to get the recipe from her. Years later I passed it along to my wife, who combined it with her aunt Mary’s chocolate cake recipe to make the best damn g.c. cake I’ve ever had in my life.

A thin slice of rich triple chocolate cake with gobs and gobs and gobs of vanilla icing.

Did I mention I am a fool for vanilla icing, and will eat it till I am so stuffed I got nauseated?

Oh wow, THANKS! and yes, of course I’d love to share with y’all.

Curiously enough, my favorite chocolate cake is also called Mary’s Chocolate Cake, after my grandmother’s maid, who used to make it for every grandchild’s birthday.

Yellow cake with chocolate frosting.

You’ve already made a pumpkin pie so I’ll have a slice of that, please. Yes, the bourbon is fine! Happy birthday!
