My boss was taken away in an ambulance today

She’d had a stroke a few years ago, before I joined the company. Today my office mate came back from her walk and asked if I knew what happened to her. I hadn’t heard a thing. Apparently she felt faint in the toilet. She went back to her office, and then went to the front office. The VP was on the phone, but she could see how ill my boss looked. She had someone call 9-1-1. As it happened, there was an ambulance outside, as a woman had collapsed outside of our door. The VP went downstairs and notified them, and they also called for another ambulance (in addition to the initial 9-1-1 call).

The paramedics examined her in the office, and then they led her out. She looked very weak. They’d brought a gurney, but my boss didn’t want it. We have a stair chair, but it turns out it doesn’t work. They helped her walk down the 23 steep stairs.

I’m telecommuting Friday, so I’ll be a bit out of the loop. I did get onto her computer and sent some file to my coworker to work on, and I sent myself enough to keep me busy until at least Tuesday.

I hope my boss recovers quickly.

Heavens! I hope she’s OK, Johnny.

Both of my dad’s parents died from stroke. I’m nervous about it.

Do you have any update on your boss today?

Having seen this, I called my coworker. She said our boss LVM for the receptionist, and the receptionist said she is still in the hospital awaiting test results; but that she expects to be released today. Coworker said she’d just noticed the VM light was blinking, so she’ll check it out and LMK if it’s the boss.

The boss is back today. She was released from the hospital on Saturday. They think she had a transient ischemic attack (‘mini-stroke’). She’s feeling fine, and she says if it happens again she’ll tell us she needs help rather than go to the front office.

My Dad has had three of those. Very scary! Best of wishes for your boss.
