My boyfriend is a punk but $%^&ing awesome

I got totally punked tonight.

My bf came over to exchange our Christmas presents tonight. I had already told him not to get excited over what I got him, I was stressed this year and lost any and all creativity and ended up getting him a bunch of useful stuff and clothes.

I had dropped a couple hints to him of what I wanted to make it easier on him. I dropped hints for Entourage S3 DVDs when they were 10 a pop, a refurb Sansa mp3 player that was like 10, and a sleeve for my laptop.

He comes over with a wrapped present and a bag.

Gives me the wrapped present first, and it was the Entourage DVDs. Awesome

Then he hands me the bag. It’s heavy. Take tissue paper out, and there is a cool Urban Dictionary word a day calendar that is really funny…then…

a copy of Twilight.

Um…

He knows I hate vampires and all that. I know I told him specifically lately even because he started watching True Blood and I told him no thanks I don’t like vampires.

But now I feel like a total bitch. I know I gave him a horribly disappointed look…but I couldn’t help it. He knows I hate vampires and all that stuff, I’ve even made fun of this book before I think when we saw it at Target. Damn I am a bitch! Argh!

But the book is wrapped with some ribbon. He sees the look on my face and says “open the book.”

Holy fucking shit.

He cut out the middle of the book.

THERE IS AN IPOD TOUCH INSIDE!

Shit i sent that in too early and screwed up the edit too.

Well I got totally punked of course.

I felt sooo bad when I saw the book. He knows I think vampire stuff is boring, why did he get me this? Oh god I feel so ungrateful and bitchy

But when I saw the iPod inside I was so completely surprised I started crying. I could not believe it. No one has even bought me something like that as a surprise before. He laughed when I said I felt like a bitch and told me not to, because he knew this would happen, and he couldn’t resist doing it.

This is seriously the biggest surprise ever. I really was expecting a $10 1gig Sansa refurb.

We’ve been playing with the iPod all night, it’s so coooool.

Anyone else have any similar surprise stories?

Best use for that book yet!

No surprises, just a congratulations. You obviously have a cruel yet awesome boyfriend.

That’s not punked - this is punked. Poor kid.

I fooled my husband with a dictionary in his iTouch box, too (so it was bigger and heavier and he couldn’t guess what it was) - there’s something about iTouchs that makes you want to fool people, I guess.

I bought my boyfriend a coat and some clothes.

He bought me a Wii. A freaking Wii!! I was in complete shock. I just kept staring at him, then the Wii, then him.

He didn’t do anything surprising like trick me into thinking he got me something else, but it was completely and absolutely unexpected. He is freaking awesome.

Too fun! What a nice suprise.

If that is the xbox thing from that other thread, that is horrid. I read the thread but refuse to watch the video, don’t want to see a kid that sad.

My parents are very jealous because I got Bejeweled on here. Posting from it now to practice typing.

And I just ran to Target to get a case because I have gift cards, but it looks like a lot of people got these for Christmas, they were out of cases! Bummer.

I guess people like to pull pranks when giving these because the box is so darn small, and such a badass little present is in it.

Back in the days when music came on big, flat, round pieces of vinyl, my mom got my dad an album he wanted. To keep him from guessing what it was, she taped two cardboard wrapping tubes to it, and a box with strait pins in it, and wrapped the whole thing, to disguise it. He was completely fooled.

Yeah, it was the Xbox kid (I should have noted that). I don’t blame you for not wanting to watch it - all the adults in his life are just pieces of shit.

That is awesome. I love tricking my husband. A few years ago he had been out of town for a while and was going to spend his Christmas/Birthday with Mommy before coming back home to me. I convinced his Mom to go halvsies with me on a Playstation 2. His little sister got him some games. We wrapped it all up in a discarded lamp box. So he comes home, not even knowing I was there (I hid upstairs) and then I came downstairs and gave him a lamp to unwrap. Only it wasn’t a lamp, it was a PS2! Two surprises in one. We still get a ton of use out of the PS2. I pretty much felt like the best girlfriend ever that year.

Not this year. But a few years back my brother got me a big plastic package of plain white socks - and slit open the side and slid a video game in between them. He said it was funny watching me be polite and try to act pleased with a package of socks on Christmas ( especially since “socks for Christmas” are something of a family in-joke about bad gifts ).

One year we bought my dad an Eagles cap and sweatshirt; and a flashlight. I put a bunch of marbles in the box, and a pint of paint taped to the side. It took me about half an hour to wrap everything up so he couldn’t guess what it was. My little brother, about four at the time, shouted as my dad walked through the door that evening, “Dad, Rugger bought you a cap, and a sweatshirt, and a flashlight!”

Little shit!
