My brothers wife is pregnant

Yehaw. Ironically the baby is due on Dec 21st. My mom’s birthday is Dec 21st and my younger brother’s birthday is Dec 22nd (but he was originally due Dec 21st).

Another piece of good news is when my brother’s wife went to the doctor her blood count was high which may be a sign she is having twins. That should be even better. Sadly it was my understanding that many babies start out as twins and one dies. I would not be suprised if this turns out this way but i hope not. Its 2 months into the pregnancy so i can’t tell, i’m not too well educated about this stuff.

First grandkids for my parents. It will change everything about the family but i don’t know how drastically or how permanently.

Its hard to imagine my older brother as a father. He will be 27 when the kids are born though so its not unnatural but when you grow up with someone seeing them get a job, and education and a family is somewhat hard to grasp.

Its my older brother who is having kids, my younger brother just happens to have a birthday on dec 22nd, to clarify.

Does anyone know how you can test for twins with a blood count? I found this info

How will I know [if im having twins]?

-Unusually high blood test results. Women carrying more than one baby may have a pregnancy blood test that shows higher than average HCG levels. Some genetic blood tests (such as an AFP), may also come back higher than expected.
Is that how they detect it? my mom wants to know so i’m looking the info up.

I thought ultrasound was pretty much the definitive way to tell – though it’d make sense that hormone counts would be up with an extra kid in there.

Congratulations to all!

Baby! Or maybe babies! Yay!

Congrats to you and your family.
