My cable company must think I'm stupid

My cable company has raised their rates again, but that is not what pisses me off. What pisses me off is that they refuse to be honest about it. Not even three months ago, they were making a big deal about how they were doubling download speeds for broadband subscribers, and how it was because they were managing their network so well and that traffic was less than expected. “This will not result in an increase in rates” they promised. Red flags went up immediately in my head. Every time they add new channels to the cable lineup, or improve internet access, or whatever, they always say “No rate increases!” Then, invariably, three months later you get this notice in your bill that says “Because we’ve added channels, increased download speeds, blah blah blah, rates need to be increased.” It wouldn’t bother me so much if they just said “Download speeds are doubled, and you’re going to pay an extra five dollars a month for it.” I just hate it when they are deceitful about it.

Oh, hey, MY cable companyt has a real reason to think I’m stupid. I called them about six weeks ago because my picture was extremely bad on several channels, to the point of being non-existent. The cable guy came out, looked at my setup for a second, then turned off my VCR.

Problem solved.
Thank God I never have to see that guy again. :smack:

The cable company just assumes that everyone is as stupid as they are.

My Cable company thought they could lie to me about sending technicians and maintenance out to check my Internet connection that stopped working in the middle of December and I wouldn’t even notice or care.

Apparently they were right, because I waited nearly six weeks of having absolutely zero service to cancel and switch to a new ISP.

I’ve got a friend who works for the cable company. It’s almost like, Technician On-Demand.
