My Cat just ate some waxed paper. Quick answers needed.

Both, of course.

The paper was no problem.
When my Dad moved to Florida, he took the cat with him.

I don’t know his ultimatefate. My Sister & I don’t speak.

It’s a small state. Want me to go check?

You guys are so amazing!! Sorry it has been so long - Kitty is doing well so far!!

First few days I was stalking her - making sure she was eating, drinking, peeing, watching for poops. I have another cat so I had to make sure who was using the litter box . . . after 2 days (and no poops from Sugar who ate wrapper) I called vet and explained situation - vet said to stop stalking her! LOL . . . I left her alone for about 1/2 hour and she pooped! hahaha

But - there was no wrapper . . . next day, another poop, but no wrapper. It has been a few days, and she has been fine otherwise. Still eats, drinks, plays, etc. So I’m hoping she just chewed it up or it disintegrated in her stomach. I will keep watching for any symptoms/wrapped poops but so far so good (knock on wood).

And I will forever be a devotee to Straight Dope! Big shout out to SeaDragonTattoo and WhyNot!! Thanks So Much guys <3

Some cats just eat all kinds of crap. As I’ve noted before, Boris will eat all kinds of bizarre things although plastic bags are his favorite. The majority of these he eventually pukes up. My current list of “things Boris managed to eat without me knowing” includes:

A feather from a cat toy
A rubber snake
Purple paper “grass” from a gift basket
Dental floss
Plastic garbage bags
The plastic film from a microwave dinner
Plastic shopping bags
Plastic dry cleaning bags
Plastic cat litter box liner bags
Plastic bread bags
The plastic wrap around a 24-pack of toilet paper
The plastic handles from cat litter boxes
More plastic bags

and of course, the infamous $3000 penny (for which he still owes me $2999.99, since the vet did very nicely give me the penny back after the surgery).

Granted, most of these I only know about because he did throw them back up or eventually passed them and yes the house is plastic-proofed-all garbage cans go in the closets with the door shut, bread goes in the upper cabinets that he can’t reach. and I lock him up when putting away groceries because he will eat the bags while they are sitting on the counter. He even tries to eat the bags I am scooping his used litter into for disposal. Little freak!
