My Cat Loves Applesauce

I had a cat who would carry her rubber band around, and dump it into her water bowl.

It’s lilies that are toxic. All parts of lilies, from leaf to stem to pollen, will cause kidney failure.

I had a cat who liked corn on the cob. I’d give him a whole cob with a row or two still on it, and he’d settle down with his claws sunk into the ends and nibble all the kernels off then drag the cob around.

Whatever happened to cats who like catnip?

My cat loves to chew at my armpit hairs. It is…weird.

Why do you think all these cats have the munchies?

I believe that you win the thread, Sir.

He will chew through plastic bags to get to things like bread. Not buttered bread, not sweet bread, not anything a cat should like. Plain bread. Not sure if he likes the taste or just an asshole.

Another likes my armpit as well.

Third cat won’t eat any meat or cheese or much beyond dry kibble. Wet food only reluctantly. Once she stole tuna, but only once.

Go ask this creature, “Who the hell are you, and what have you done with the cat?” :dubious:

I would assume it has something to do with the texture of it.

But then again, I have a coworker that screams, “My cat puts his paw in my coffee, he doesn’t even drink it, he just wiggles it around long enough to get hair in it than leaves?”

I know a cat that would steal and eat Twinkies and such. As in, while they were still packaged, and it would tear it open and eat it.

I once had a cat who was fond of cantaloupe.

I had a feline overlord who liked Cocoa-puffs. Bonus points for distracting her from climbing my back at breakfast! [bounce, bounce, bounce rollrollroll POUNCE crunch!!]

My aunts cat liked Dunkin Donuts coffee. Must have made Zoomie time interesting…

Damned dyslexia. I thought your cat loved applause.

Yep. When I was a kid we had a cat who loved green olives. We’d have to give her one whenever we opened a jar. She’d bat it around for a while and then it would disappear. We assumed she ate them… until Mom and Dad got a new fridge. When they pulled out the old fridge there were a bunch of dried-up little green olive carcasses under there!

We had another cat who liked to lick the “cheese” off of Doritos. He was known to knock a bag off the counter and tear into it to get to the chips.

My current cat doesn’t like much in the way of people food but he does like popsicles. All but the grape ones, he gives me the stink-eye if I am eating a grape one.

My current cat will occasionally sniff at something I’m eating, then do the horrified “you EAT that?” face. Trust me, Princess, I feel the same way about that glop you eat.

Her predecessor would outright mug a human who had either a particular brand/flavor of ice cream (he didn’t care much about other brands/flavors) or a particular brand of string cheese.

I’ve also had cats who enjoyed oranges, dill pickles, or lime Popsicles (different cats).

Let’s face it, the meowing ones are weird.

My ringneck dove has her moments, too. If she’s flying loose and we have popcorn, she’ll land IN the bowl and try to help herself, never mind it has to be crumbled up into beak-size bits for her anyway. There was also the turkey sandwich incident. I was eating said sandwich when she landed on the arm of my chair, looking curious. I held the sandwich out for avian inspection, mostly as a joke. OK, her liking the bread is understandable, but I did think her enthusiasm for the turkey was a little disturbing.

My parents had a cat that was addicted to licking the soapy foam off my shoulders while I took a bath. He also ate bread and liked licking beer off my finger.

My cat likes cat food. Period. We’ve even brought her fresh sashimi leftovers from a restaurant, which she sniffs suspiciously, then turns her nose up at it.

My ex’s cat licked plastic bags. He had protein allergy, so he could only eat special food, or else he would get covered in sores. So he would lick plastic bags, as a treat.
