I know that the “Members” option has been disabled, since it’s too big a drain on resources. But I’ve been wondering and wondering and wondering, and now I need to ask… what does that page look like? Is it simply a huge, giant .txt-esque file with all the names that have ever been registered (minus the ones that have been deleted), or is it like some magical fairyland, where all the mods/Admins dance around nude and cherubs fly around providing food and booze, where there’s no sadness and only happiness and you can give yourself an orgasm simply by pressing a button?
I must know, I must know, I mu-u-u-u-ust kno-o-o-o-ow!!!
I believe vBulletin’s webpage has links to other vBulletin powered message boards. Find one that looks more or less like this, and pull up its members’ page.
There’s better examples than that one.
vB must have options on that format.
I’ve seen them at other vB sites.
They have the mail and home page info in the table, rather than just links.
The main useful difference is the option on how many names to put on a page. If the site chooses unlimited, they all appear on one click. May take a while, but it’s a lot easier to scroll down to the name you want.
Aw, shoot, I’m so disappointed now… I was envisioning a magical land where the beer flows like wine, where money grows on trees, where chocolate bars rain from the skies, where anyone would gladly shave your back for a nickel (wakka-wakka-doo-doo, yeah!).
Gone is my innocence of youth, crushed by the overpowering stench of reality… ::sobs::… I’ll go fantasize about the mods and Admins now… except slythe. He’s mean to me.
I saw this fabled land, once, before it was disabled. A holy place, filled with magical, immensely slow-loading tables of profiles…lists of descriptions fluttering by in a whirl of names never before seen.
