A little hiccup today. Dad’s been having problems activating the device since Wednesday. Since Mom is fighting a bad cold, I took the afternoon off of work and took Dad to the doctor’s office. Apparently the switch on the pump migrated, and is in a really bad location. It’s almost impossible for Dad to get to. So the doctor deactivated it again, and we scheduled a follow up procedure for next Thursday to relocate it.
This procedure only takes five or 10 minutes, and he’ll be sent home the same day. Then another two weeks of healing before it’s activated again.
The good news is that things worked fairly well for the first two days, so we’re still hopeful that this all has a happy ending.
In other news, if anyone noticed in the news about the flooding in Broward and Miami-Dade counties today - the nearly foot of rain that fell… Yeah. I was driving in that. Ugh.
