10:15 I wake up. This is unusual for me because I’m up at around most of the time. I assume my mom is at work and my step dad is outside working on the porch/garage like he has been doing for the last month or so. I put some shorts on. My first clue something wasn’t right should have been that the dog was sleeping next to my bed. She never comes in my room unless no one is home. So I do my morning routine. Which is get online and read SDMB. Some people read the paper, I read the SDMB in the morning.
11:05 Mom calls from her cell phone. Before I even pick up the phone I assume it my mom calling from work wanting to talk to Jeff, like she usually does (don’t ask why she does it cause know one knows why.) She tells me that she is at the hospital with my step dad cause he hurt his back somehow. She says they are on their way home and Jeff will be coming on in an ambulace cause he can’t get in the car. I then notice on the caller ID that she has called 5 times. I slept through all of them (doesn’t surprise me either I’ve slept through thunderstorms, so what a little phone rining gonna do?)
