My decorating dreams have been destroyed

My decorating dreams have been destroyed. I will soon be moving into a smaller version of the apartment in which I now reside, in this complex. 200 bucks less per month, which equates to, if I can still do math(and I can, if in multiples of 10), about 20 hours less work per month in my semi-retired life, working midnight shift at the local 7-11. In the new apartment, I will have two 11x11 rooms. Pretty much what I have now, except for a much smaller kitchen. But I am going to do something different this time. One room will be a library/sittting room, and what is now a bedroom will be a TV/media/guitar room, in which I will be sleeping on a couch. And as I will request the apartment management to remove the door to what would have been a bedroom (and if they don’t agree I will remove it myself and store it in my parent’s basement), the two rooms will function as one, with a divider. Great for the parties that I plan to soon have. My plan was to get the couch you will see in the link below, I now have the smaller version of it. Went into Southern Furniture yesterday and was told they could order it, but I could not commit to buy it because I had not yet gotten confirmation from apartment management that the new apartment was available. Got it today, called Southern furniture to order. They can’t get it now, the supplier sold 13 of the motherfuckers in 24 hours. Now I will not be able to have matching couches, the illusion of two rooms being one is broken. Damn the supply chain issues! Which of course are solely the fault of Joe Biden. Next time I am voting red, no mattter who is the head of the Book of Revelation Beast that is now the Republican Party. The needs of me outweigh the needs of the many. And isn’t that just a perfect summation of this whole fucked up human race?

Can’t you buy it through that link? It let me put one in the cart and didn’t say sold out…

maybe but I will be on the 3rd floor and I don’t know move in date yet. Maybe I coiuld have it delivered here, will UPS or Fed Ex carry it up to my 2nd floor deck, I could manage to drag it in , will have helpers when I move

actually the question is moot, it is $200 more. There are other couches but this gives me the excuse to post on of my favorite SNL sketches.

Helpful tip: if you do take the door down yourself, leave the hinges on the door (the door half and the jamb half). I’m serious – I don’t know how many times I’ve run into a jamb-half of a hinge left on the jamb when I’ve taken down a door for storage. Something psychological tells me it’s OK to walk 2 inches closer to the jamb (there’s no door there, right?) and, sure enough, a scrape or worse is coming my way. Of course, this could just be me.

Don’t forget to pivot.

mmm

I feel your pain. I have a ghost room that defys any decorating scheme I’ve ever come up with. 15 years and counting.
It’s basically a climate controlled storage room. Unless you count the chill up your spine when you go in there.
Think I’ll order some sage bundles and smudge it. Again.
I’ll then redouble my effort to decorate.
Wish me luck.
