My dog got into the trash and ate one of my daughter’s poopy disposable diapers. The dog left the outer coating, but ate all the absorbent gel. I’m pretty sure the gel was already saturated with water. Now, my question is, is this a health risk for the dog? Not eating poop, my daughter’s poop is pure as the driven snow. But what about eating the gel? Will it give my dog constipation? Does it matter if it was already saturated with liquid?
Read the diaper package for the “warnings” section. If it mentioned poison control (for people) you’d probably better get him to a vet post haste.
Can’t realy help with the diaper part of it, but I can relate a story from my own toilet training. My family all made such a big fuss over my first in-pottychair movement, that the family schnauzer up and ate it.
My dad went right out and got those charcoal dogbiscuts to ward off any baby poo breath in the dog.
ew
I would put in a call to the vet and get an opinion.
Good idea to call the vet, and also check the packaging as was recommended. But I’m betting that if its safe for baby’s bottom it’ll do just fine in the dogs digestive track.
Did doggy give you a nice big slurp?
Nice doggy.
Lemur, how is the dog doing?
This is probably the worst, most disturbingly amusing thread title I’ve read.
Having said that, I sure hope your dog remains healthy. But judging by what I’ve seen dogs eat in the past, this too should pass. Keeping my fingers crossed just in case.
I’m expecting lieu to drop by aaaaaaaany minute now. . .
Once, my dog got in the neighbor’s garbage, and ate part of a disposable diaper. Needless to say, he’s fine. I think he’s developed a digestive track of steel- he’s eaten a wide variety of things not meant for doggies. He’s a rascal that way.
Even though I’m a newbie, I caught that.
LOL! Welcome, Hauky!
