Thanks for your thoughts; we will probably do it today or tomorrow. We haven’t been able to get her to eat since Friday. She still had a good time on our walk yesterday, but was exhausted afterwards. It was hard coming to work this morning. Thanks again for your suggestions and condolences.
bannerrefugee, I’m so very sorry - you and Suzie and your family will be in my thoughts.
We only get to have dogs for a short time. All we can do is try to make that time good time. Dogs trust the pack leader to understand and do what’s best for the pack and each member. We do not, of course, truly understand death and aging, but we do not admit that to the pack.
All we can do is hold them in our arms and tell them they’ve been good, good dogs, while we send them on ahead. We will follow all too soon.
