God, I hate that “hyperactive” label for bright, creative, high-energy kids. It’s only a matter of time before they start drugging that kid unncessarily instead of cutting off his sugar intake and making him go outside to play. You know, like parents did a couple generations ago before there were pills for everything.
I think the OP’s neice probably just needs to feel important. Being listened to can go a long way.
