I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed at one time. The doc wanted to do two, wait and do the other two, but I figured a whole mouth sore for a week was better than half a mouth sore for two weeks.
Anyway, the deed was done and I proceeded to check out. I felt a dribble on my chin and asked the receptionist for a tissue. I unthinkingly wiped the dribble off and started towards the door.
As soon as I got outside, a pretty nurse walking by smiled and said hello to me. I did the same for her.
Her face went white and a definite look of terror swept over her face. Strange, thought I, as I continued to my car.
Understanding came to me when I looked in the rearview mirror- blood was dripping from both corners of my mouth and my teeth were bright bloody red. I’ll never forget the look on that woman’s face. It was almost worth the pain I started to feel a few hours later.
