My first dreams as a toddler

I remember these series of dreams as a toddler vividly. I was between the ages of 3 and 5. Pre school for sure but I could speak. I remember that around the time I was held by my father in his arms so I was quite young. I was born 1963. Location was Bombay.

The recurrent dream was that I saw a small star in the sky and it gradually came closer to the earth over a period of days. As it came closer, in my dream, it got bigger and bigger and appeared to be a large mirror. People panicked as they saw it. The mirror then shattered and there was fire everywhere the pieces of glass fell. This was a recurrent dream for a few years.

One day, when awake and being carried by my father I spotted my first plane in the sky and thought it was the mirror. I told my father of the dreams I had been having.

I think this dream stopped when I began school.

Is this significant. I was obviously too young to know about space or UFOs. My age of the dreams really puzzles me.

Coincidentally, my dreams as an adult, even now are vivid remembrances of my past lives. Mainly Philippines and North African Berber areas. Never India or Britain, my current homes. The UFO dream has not happened since school enrolment.

Congratulations for remembering a dream as a toddler.

I struggle with last nights dream.

A blue late-model sedan. The car, not the later ubiquitous calling-all-cars description. Iate model then meant 1941, when I had seen very few.

Stone-men. almost identical to those 50 years later in Galaxy Quest, and at leeast one other person told me. before that, that she dreamt of stone men. But I was 4 then.

Men in black, with beards like Smith Brothers. They were coming to get me.

My guess is that you saw something like this in a movie as an infant, and then dreamed about it. Did your parents ever watch SF movies when you were a baby?

I don’t think this was a dream of a past life, it’s different from your other dreams.

We did not have a TV set at home in 1966.

Not quite toddler age but more around kindergarten and first grade age, I used to have dreams about aliens that would land in the tennis court just outside our house. My sister and I would hide in our closet but the aliens had gun-like machines that could make things like walls and floors invisible. They never actually got us but I was always scared.

I don’t really remember what the aliens looked like but I vividly remember the spaceship. It was arrowhead-shaped and the outside was covered in a glowing honeycomb pattern with black lines and bright green cells.

In those early years, I also had a lot of flying dreams and dreams about walking across railroad tracks and somehow getting my foot caught between the ties while a train was coming. I always woke before it got to me though.

This is an incredibly interesting dream for a young child to have. It’s almost messianic.

I had a recurring dream when I was very young. I would have been taken into London on the London Underground as a child so I must have been intimidated by the train and perhaps my parents warning to stay clear of the edge of the platform. In my dream I fell onto the track and was too late to get out of the way of the train. Then I was on an empty grassy hill with both my parents holding a hand each.

Not as cool as yours…

Did you have a mobile in your crib when you were younger? Maybe some memory of it could possibly have been expressed in this dream even if you no longer had the mobile at the time of the dream.
