He wasn’t my instructor, just my examiner.
But perhaps testing me was enough…

I must admit that until I actually clicked on this thread and read the OP, I thought it read “My flight examiner is in the WWI aviation HOF”. I didn’t think this made much sense as WWI was quite a while ago now. I now see that I was adding a W.
