My friend stabbed someone 7 times yesterday in Mexico.

I think that’s obviously what she meant by “Telum” in the OP.

Yes, that is what I was trying to say. Apologies for my spelling.

It’s not vicious, but it’s a comment on the plausibility of your story: thread here.

That’s nice for you, I guess. Personally, I like to know if measures such as this actually work, so I went to a little effort and looked up the stats. It doesn’t seem that violent crime, robbery or burglary has dropped, let alone “amazingly”, in Mississippi since 2006. Jackson specifically has higher robbery and burglary counts both in real and relative terms comparing 2010 to 2006.

Mark me down as a “yes.”

[bold mine]
That makes you “innumerate.” But don’t let statistics get in your way.

Looks as if Mint has been pitted for her recent threads. Talk about a “grasping for straws” pitting too. Quite pathetic those pitters are.

The person who started that thread linked it 4 posts up. If you want to call her pathetic you should probably go do it in that thread.

Mint Julip, I was really just baffled that you didn’t look up those stats yourself when I asked about the amazing drop in crime. I wouldn’t call you innumerate, since you apparently never looked at the numbers in the first place. You just went with the “truthiness” of the Castle Doctrine’s effects.

Nava – Right you are! I stand corrected. It does indeed mean “son of” (like Irish “Mac”, Arabic “Ibn”, etc.), and was probably some sort of genitive, originally. But according to Wikipedia, there is no consensus on just what sort:

And…To the OP, please stick around! I can see why you might feel a bit miffed…actually, I thought you handled this rather well. The Enya was a bit harsh, that’s true… No one deserves that kind of torture!

ETA: I meant to post that in the Pit thread, obviously.

See, this is why we should be nice in the pit, too.
