Yeah, well, I don’t know an awful lot more than that right now. She leaves for Colorado (?) in a couple weeks. The chef she works for is taking her as his sous chef, I believe the contest is going to be chocolate something or other.
Kim is a couple years older than my Kid - went to a nice private school aiming to be a lawyer. That didn’t pan out - she had trouble getting into the law schools she wanted, so needing something to do, she said “hey, I’ve always liked cooking…”.
She ended up at the Culinary Institute of Chicago (probably the right name) and has been working the line in a fancy hotel downtown the last year or two. Every single time we see them, they have plates of very very exquisitely fattening and delicious pastries, pies, cakes, cookies or whatever. Seriously, I’d marry her for the lemon bars alone.
