I need to find a new chiropractor. Actually, I need to find a chiro who has the best traits of my three previous chiros without all the annoying stuff they had going against them.
Chiropractor #1 is a sweet friend of the family and has a great personality, but he wails on me so hard I’m feeling aftershocks for the next two days. Too rough for my neck, but effective for my lower back. Also, he had so many patients, he’d rush through the whole shebang. Dude, don’t rush me when I’m sore and cranky.
Chiro #2 is THE BEST for my neck. Instead of adjusting my neck on the table (face up or down), he had a low-riding chair that sort of reclined. He’d have me sit on it, place the back of my head on his belly & completely relax. Then, with his magic fingers and hands, he’d cradle my head and neck and make appropriate adjustments. Without the jarring motions or disturbing “CRACK” of my bones. Think instant “Ahhhh…” However, he’d talk my damned ear off & try to peddle products and f-ing religion on to me. Uh, no way dude… no business from me.
Chiro #3 has what I would call “peripherals.” Electrotherapy, an Intersegmental Table that relaxed my muscles and made me feel soo wonderful. Down side: Totally ineffective at adjusting my spine. Plus he had a creepy, “bad toucher” vibe to him. ::shudder::
For about 2 weeks now, my neck has been giving me problems. My shoulder hurts when I move it just a certain way. I so badly need a crunch. But I want to get in, get treated, and get the hell out. I’m seriously thinking about calling every chiro office within a 5-mile radius of my home to *interview *prospective chiropractors. I’m not about to waste my time and money on someone who doesn’t fit my needs/ wants, right? Is this stupid way to look at it?
Anyway, I’m tired & cranky from a bad day and my neck & shoulder are being pissy. Just venting here.
