My hair grows darker and darker with age...

My hair is naturally very color. When I was younger it was a dark brown (but easily identifiable as brown) with reddish highlights. Now it’s so nearly black that I just gave up on calling it brown anymore. I miss that old color - I used to love the way it looked when the sun hit it. Now it just looks dark. And dull. Unless I use that horrible silicone stuff that gives hair a nice sheen (and hands a greasy feeling unaffected by water and soap).

My hair, while apparently naturally “very color”, is also naturally very curly. Gah.

I’m curly headed!

When I was very little - from the time my hair actually grew in so it could be seen (I look bald in every picture before I was about 6 months old) until I was about 3 or 4 was blonde. By the time my kindergarten pictures were taken during the school year, I was brown haired.
Now I dye it an auburn color. Underneath, it’s still the same brown, with strands that come in grey. But still curly!

This has happened to my wife’s hair. When she was a kid, it was a bit like a darker shade of blonde. Nine years ago, when we met, it was a kind of golden-dirty blonde mix with auburn highlights. Now it’s several different shades of brown. Still looks very nice, though.

Wait, wait, aren’t you Indian?

I have always had black hair. It can only get, ahem, lighter with age :frowning:

Yup. But, yes, it was a lovely reddish-brown as a child. Too lazy to link to pics right now.

My hair was a lovely shade of auburn until a few years ago. Now it’s almost completely dark brown with a few bright white strands here and there. It makes me sad too, and I’m almost tempted to color it.

I have very very curly hair too.

Nope. Mine continues to be reddish brown. However, during pregnancy and for a few months afterward it grew in straight.

My hair has been dark-brown-almost-black since. . .well, pretty much forever. It might’ve been a little bit lighter when I was a toddler, but it’s hard to tell in pictures.

Right now. . .it’s dyed. It looks almost exactly-the-freaking-same, though, just a little more red. I dyed it Midnight Ruby. It’s already washing out.

My hair is also curly (well, really wavy, not corkscrew curls or anything like that) Unfortunately, I started getting grey hairs when I was 16. I blame AP Calc.

Auburn is a beautiful hair color, especially on olive skin–I used to know a teenage girl down the street who had dark olive skin and naturally auburn hair–she was breathtakingly lovely.

I am another tow-head kid turned boring ash blonde grownup.
Both I and one of my sons were born with jetblack hair which later grew in blonde.

I was wavy-haired in Colorado, but since the move to Florida, I’ve returned to the ranks of the curly-haired.

I used to have my hair highlighted about four times a year, but this new curly look
may reduce the highlight habit.

My brothers and I were all towheads as children. The older brother is definitely brunet, the younger is ash blonde/brown with a multi-colored beard and mustache, and the only reason I can still pass as blonde is because I started getting white hairs when I was 24. Not grey. Not silver. White. I’ve also gone from having straight-as-a-board fine hair to having very slightly wavy fine hair. At least there’s lots of it.

When I was a young lad my hair was bright blond, like white gold. Now, it’s almost brown. I think it’s a family thing. I’ve pictures of my dad when he was realy young and he had the same bright blond hair. Now he’s fifty and it’s difinitely brown.
