Mr. Lillith is sick, has had a fever since Tuesday. So today he got an appointment with the doctor which is far far away. (He has to go to a doctor who rides bikes; otherwise the doctor would tell him to stop riding his bike so much, so the doctor is not conveniently located.) He decided he can drive himself because the logistics of getting him there and getting myself to an appointment I have would be really hard. But…
“the car needs gas.”
Me: “You think you can drive yourself to do the doctor but you can’t get gas?”
Mr. Lillith: “Yes.”
Me: “It sounds to me like you really can’t drive yourself to the doctor.”
Mr. Lillith: “Yes I can, but I can’t get gas.”
So I went home and got him the gas.
I know this is really stupid, but I hardly ever cook dinner and the house is a mess and I’d rather do ridiculous things like fill the car with gas for an able-bodied man or run to the store to buy chocolate chips so he can make cookies.
Crazy?
Or just stupid?
:wally
Well, cookies need chocolate chips!
You have to have priorities!
Maybe I am missing something. Why didn’t he ride his bike to the doctor’s office?

Why would any good doctor tell a guy not to exercise so much? Aren’t they supposed to do just the opposite?
Maybe your hubby has an aversion to gasoline and that’s why he rides so much!

Well, being sick, he couldn’t make a 2-3 hour bike ride to the doctor.
He keeps having back problems and knee problems. A normal doctor would say, “Methinks perhaps you should not ride your bike to work in downtown Cleveland through rain, snow, hail and sleet!”
He can do all that, but when he gets sick he can barely manage to take his shoes off before climbing into bed.
Oh, by the way, he has the flu. He got a decongestant for it. Apparently there is an anti-viral thing you can take within 48 hours but it was too late for that.
I’m really really tired of him and I really really don’t want to get what he has. I’m washing my hands raw and wiping things with Clorox wipes. But, really, isn’t it in the air since he has been sneezing? Am I doomed? I feel okay so far and this really started with him last Sunday but the fever didn’t start until Tuesday.
