My itunes has stopped responding to my play/stop/next/previous keyboard buttons. Halp.

To be more precise. Starting today. It will only respond if it is the focused app. Otherwise those keypresses get ignored.

I am refering to those buttons that many modern keyboards have. They are not part of the 102 lineup. they are keys for ‘play’ ‘stop’ ‘next track’ and so on.

When I first downloaded itunes it ‘took over’ as the responder to those buttons from WMP. It would respond perfectly to them no matter which app was focused.

It stopped doing that today.

I’ve taken steps to re-establish it as the ‘default app’ for all media types, but that has had no effect.

Any insights/ideas?

I do not have those buttons however I noticed yesterday I got an update for a new version of itunes. Previously new versions f’d with my PC (suddenly couldn’t see the cd drive, etc.) Do you have a PC? Does it do auto updates you may not notice? Can you go into restore and set it back a couple of days and see if the keys work?
