MPTIMDS - Apple don't seem to understand the music control symbols.

In ‘itunes’ the button showing the symbol for fast forward (two right-pointing triangles) actually performs the function of the ‘next track’ button on other players (two right-pointing triangles and a vertical line).

Has Apple made a stupid mistake or am I missing something??

My OSX version doesn’t look like that.

How often do you need to fast-forward an mp3?! If you want to skip ahead within a particular track, use the progress bar underneath the song title.

If you hold it down, it does fast forward.

I give up. What’s “MPTIMDS”?

That’s how a lot of music playback things work these days - my car CD player, for example. Hitting it once puts it on the next track, holding it down fast forwards. Because then you don’t have to have so many extra buttons on your iPod.

checks And iTunes does that, too! Cool.
