Thursday it’s due to arrive via UPS. I’ve been wanting one for 4 years but always dragged my feet over coughing up the money for one. It’s mundane and pointless but I can’t wait. Come to me oh container of compact computing power!
I dispute the “pointless” bit. Laptops are cool.
Oh oh, what did you get? I just got one, via UPS, about a day or so ago, and man is it sexy. My parents and I split the money for a nice one, since I’ll be heading off to school next year. The computer I had been using was nearly 7 years old (233 mHz!) and so it was time for an upgrade.
Mine is a Dell E1505, completely maxed out. I used one of those coupons online, where you can get $750 off of purchases $2,000 and up, so I got all sorts of goodies in it. I was estatic on the days leading up to its arrival, nearly flipping out when UPS had it in the local terminal over the weekend (they don’t deliver Sat or Sun). So close…
Yea, anyway, woohoo! Goodies in boxes own.
I don’t know if I could ever go back to being tied to a desk and a computer. Well, at work I am, but at home, I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t either sprawled on the living room floor or the couch.
Get thyself wireless at home!!!
We’re getting an upgrade to our routing software over the summer, and my laptop will need to go, and replaced with an even hotter hot rod, so I’m kind of jazzed about that. Because new laptop for me comes free!
OK, free to me, and I wish to thank the taxpayers from the bottom of my heart!
Unpacked goodies own goodies in boxes.
And unpacked goodie boxes own the garage. Not for long - tonight’s “Cut up the boxes” night for recycling.
HP with 1 gig of memory and an AMD Turion™ 64 processor. I could not max it out since I am far too cheap these days thanks to my wife. In the old days I used to spend thousands on each computer I bought figuring I would get at least 4 years out of it. Now I get something fast which will last a couple of years. It is set for wireless and I believe the town I am moving to offers free wireless. If not, I’ll get a wireless router and enjoy the freedom.
