Indeed. There is nothing about this episode I didn’t love, aside from Pinkie callously hurting Luna’s feelings by acting scared of her. But even then Pinkie was way too funny and cute for me to stay grouchy.
I understand there was such a scene but it was cut.

Pity. That scene would not only have avoided the puzzling Rarity absence, but would have reinforced that Pinky was playing at being scared.

After watching this episode, I gave my little sister a phone call after 3 months of lazy non-contact.
I did not tell her why.
Doesn’t count if you weren’t covered in mud.
It was a nice one, wasn’t it? Refreshing to have a relatively low-key, character-centric episode after the last few action-packed ones.
And maybe I’m unobservant, but I honestly didn’t see the twist coming.
I remember Faust saying that they tried to have a balance of adventure-based episodes and relationship-based episodes. Perhaps they put many adventure-based episodes up front to hook people in at the beginning of the season.
No Twilight at all. Also, no Scootaloo.
No Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash or Fluttershy either if I’m not mistaken. I was going to comment on the surprising lack of main characters but then I remembered that it’s a Sweetie Belle episode and I couldn’t remember if the main 6 were as present in the cutie mark crusader episodes.
Twilight’s been present in every episode up till now… even if it was the last thirty seconds in Stare Master.
Scootaloo is, of course, relevant because this means they broke up the CMC for this episode too. Course, she’s the one without a sister.

I am really missing new songs this season. I know there’s one coming up soon, but five without one makes me sad, even though the episodes have been good.
