My Magic Electric Shaver

I use an electric shaver. It recharges by plugging a cord directly from the shaver to the wall. I have found that I get more power by using it while it is plugged in. I leave it plugged in all the time, and for about 6 months I have noticed something weird: If I have to get up in the middle of the night to get a drink or go to the bathroom, the shaver begins charging at the exact same time I walk into the bathroom. I don’t touch anything or turn on any lights. I just walk through the door frame, and about 70-80% of the time the charge light comes on and I can hear a faint but noticeable buzzing from the shaver. Does anyone have any ideas about why this happens??
My only theory is that over the years I have developed a sort of friendship with my shaver that only a magnetic person like myself could acheive with an electric appliance. My shaver is so happy to see me that it charges up in anticipation of helping me look my best. This theory is kind of hard to prove though. I did not purchase the optional talking, thinking shaver upgrade, so I can’t ask it what the deal is. Any other ideas will be appreciated

Perhaps, in its old age, the shaver’s battery has become incontinent. The charging circuit, sensing the battery’s periodic diminished condition, switches on at times to restore the battery to its full charge.

This means the charging light comes on at somewhat regular intervals, not just when you walk into the bathroom. Of course, the only time you see it is when you are present, leading to a false sense of importance and/or purpose on your behalf.

Hell, it seems like 70-80% of the time I approach a traffic light, it turns red. I try not to take it personally, and I assume (although I don’t know this for certain) that it also turns red for other people.

I get the idea that you’re a looney!

How are you even able to operate the shaver when it’s charging? When my Remington is plugged into the wall for charging, the on/off switch is disabled.

Do you turn on the light when you enter the bathroom?

Can some people extinguish streetlamps by means of their bodily emanations?

A loose connection or contact between shaver and charger, or in the wall socket, and the vibration of your entrance or small gust as you open the bathroom door moves the shaver or whatever slightly and completes the circuit?

Or this is some kind of zen thing, does a charger charge if there’s noone there to see it?
