I started a thread in GQ yesterday titled “auto insurance question or “how to pay more for less”” and now it’s not there. I know it went through. I saw my question up on my screen and even pressed reload once or twice about 10 minutes later to see if anyone replied yet. I log on today and now my question is gone. What’s up? I highly doubt that a mod or admin disappeared it on purpose (I didn’t break any rules that I know of). Was it eaten up by the boards? I don’t understand how this could happen to a threat that I saw with my own two eyes and refreshed after 10 minutes. Anyone have any ideas? I didn’t save the question on word unfortunately. Am I going to have to retype the whole thing?
I do not know what’s going on with this thread, but I’ll see what I can find out.
Chances are it got disappeared because of a spammer or a troll. It’s not often something like that happens, but when things get too busy around here, sometimes moderators just disappear an entire thread because it’s too time-consuming to try to pick out the not-good-posts from the good ones. This is especially true when board resources are stretched to the limit and response from the server is not optimal, as has often been the case lately.
We have had cases wher threads have just vanished into the ether due to system malfunction, but that is rare.
But all that is speculation, because I don’t know what happened. I’ll find out.

It’s in IMHO:
Strange auto insurance quote question or “how to be covered for less and pay more”

Was it moved there or did I originally post it there? I’m asking for my own sanity (because I could have sworn I put it in GQ).
Not sure. Lemme ask the mods, usually they mention when they move something, but I did not see a post so noting.

Sanity is not a requirement for posting.
It looks like you originally posted it in IMHO. Each time a thread is edited (and a forum move counts as an edit), vBulletin makes an informational recording of what type of edit was done, by whom, and at what time. There’s nothing there in the records for your thread, so it was started in IMHO.
You can get a list of all threads you started in your User CP ^^
How does that work? I can see how to look at threads I’ve subscribed to, but how do you see threads I started?
Click on your name in a thread. You’ll see in the window all you need to know.
Thank you. I think I knew that once and then forgot.
