I went outside this morning to get the paper, thought it a little odd that it was semi-frozen in the snow alongside my driveway. I brought it in and sat down with a cup of coffee and began to read about the stranded cattle in southeastern Colorado. That was odd because it has been quite warm for the last couple of weeks, in fact, I can see grass in my yard for the first time since before Christmas. I looked at the top of the paper and saw the date - January 5th, 2007.
It had been buried in a snowbank for a month and a half and the warm weather had finally uncovered it. It was in remarkable condition.
Maybe next weekend I’ll be able to take down the Christmas lights.
