My Name Is Earl, 10/12

“If you fall, I won’t catch you, Randy! I won’t be waiting!”

:smack: I missed the fact Earl used the lyrics as normal conversations in the scene.

Anybody notice that the Lauper soundtrack sounded, well, bad. I figgered she must’ve gone to the studio to sing especially for the show, since the actual released song sounds MUCH better than what they played.

Another show-music usage problem, mayhaps?

All these posts in and no one mentions that Catalina was MIA again?

You never know when Randy is going to come out with something that actually makes sense. When Earl made fun of him for being superstitious, he said, “I’m superstitious? Every day of our life revolves around you believing in karma.”

Meant to add, this show was a nice follow-up to Randy’s non sequitur comment of last week, “I’ll never find somebody to love me.”

I heard Time After Time in the supermarket the day after this aired, and I couldn’t help but think of poor Randy.

I was upset that they did not have her character on this episode at all. I am also baffled as to why Randy and Catalina are not together as a couple – he did call “dibs” on her! Plus, they had some great scenes together last season! (I especially liked the scene in the Christmas episode when they were trying to win the car by keeping their hands on it! That was great!)

Maybe they will eventually explain that Catalina has told Randy she likes him as just a friend, and does not want to get romantically involved. It would be nice to have some resolution about their relationship!

good episode. I really hope Ethan Suplee will earn some fucking recognition. He’s a really good actor. He’s soo funny. His delivery is pretty great too. I can’t say anything less about this guy.

What in particular would Catalina see in Randy as anything but a friend? He has no job, he is borderline simple and has a long arrest record. Catalina is should be able to do a lot better I would think. Randy is the funniest part of the show and he is at heart a really nice guy. But is he marriage material? Has Catalina returned any of his interest at all?

Maybe the writers put in the “dibs” remark just to remove the possibility of a romantic subplot. I’m glad they aren’t going there with either Randy or Earl.

That is why I thought she would be interested in him. He is funny and nice! Other than that, I suppose you are right – he is not exactly “marriage material”!

Just saw this, at long last, on a DVD very kindly sent by Rummunkey.

Best bits: Randy telling the Hasidic family that he was delayed in the bathroom because he got his foreskin caught in his zipper… and their expressions.

Randy getting a big hug from his girlfriend after she’s agreed to get rid of her cat because of her allergies and whispering to the cat, “I win!”
