I bet you put tinsel round your monitor at christmas!
Much as it pains me to say it - you go for it Flowerchild and use AOL if you want, and kudos for admitting to liking it.
At the end of the day, if it makes your web experience more pleasant then fine. Although the usual caveats and arguments about the whole AOL thing still apply.
IMO, the e-mail system up through 7.0 (which didn’t change much) was kinda bland. The 8.0 e-mail system is much nicer, mainly because it’ll display new messages as they come in, even if you have the mail window open. There are a bunch of other features, but that’s the one that makes the most difference to me.
Ah, I love the little report spam button in 8.0. I no longer have to open up the e-mails and forward them to TOS. Now I can just look at the subject header, say “Yup, that’s spam”, and click the little button. It even removes them from my inbox, so I don’t have to delete them. How nice.
Otherwise, I don’t like 8.0 very much. I suspect it’s the program that’s made the family computer even more unstable than it was before. Though it is hard to tell…my brother keeps putting all sorts of junk on here and I have to go and clean it out every so often. But I think AOL is the problem this time.
This is where, once again, I need that “hijack” smiley.
There is an artist in my town who has been painting old records and turning them into clocks. He is very talented, and his clocks are truly awesome.
He has now started using those “wonderful” discs we all get in the mail to make small clocks…so he LIKES the hole. He puts the clockworks through the hole and everything works out nicely. SO…YES…send me all your unwanted discs, should you feel motivated to DO so. I have finally found a better way for someone to recycle them than making coasters. Which DO indeed leak, and besides which…they are slippery.
