I think the way the feeder is situated the birds can’t see through the window - it must reflect or something, because I can walk right up to the feeder and look at the birdies through the glass. I’m less than 6 inches away from them. It’s so cool I can hardly stand it.
I want to get one too! Right now we have Northern Cardinals, Northern Mockingbirds, Brown Thrashers and the occasional Catbird feeding under the bamboo in the back yard - I’d really like to attract some other types of feathered friends as well. Birds are great
A very cool feeder indeed! Being a stingy pennypincher, I usually throw seed on the window sill in my office. The birds can definitely see in since they take off in a flurry of seeds and feathers when I come in or turn around in my seat. So I put a mirror up on my bookcase and I can watch them stuff themselves (House Sparrows, juncos, jays). It’s funny because they’ll stretch their necks to peek through the window, keeping an eye on me (while I watch them with my back turned). Heh, little goofballs.
