“It’s twenty 'till five in the morning; it seems appropriate to talk about foreign policy.”
Peter Jennings, as he started, a few minutes ago, to talk about North Korea.
I am so glad I couldn’t support either of these candidates; it makes the waiting so much more detached and interesting than if I actually wanted one to beat the other.

i just don’t want bush to win… I specifically voted AGAINST him…
I didn’t want Gore to win. I specifically voted against him.
Unfortunately, as I mentioned in another thread, the current situation has me hoping for a Gore victory from the Florida recount.
It was pretty fun to watch Tom Brokaw become increasingly loopy as the night went on. At one point he got caught with a cracker in his mouth. Late in the coverage he kept calling the recount a recall. Brokaw and Russert got into a nice argument with one of their analysts suggested that Bush should withdraw if the recount goes in his favor and yet were so tired that they didn’t pick up on the most obvious reason this is a stupid suggestion.
My favorite part was when part of the ABC set caught on fire. Mr. Jennings says very calmly: “And we’ve got a fire here” and continues as you see some stagehand (offscreen) put it out. On a night when everything else seems to have happened…
And I slept through all of this?!
What’s wrong with me?
