I bought a new hat on the wekend - a trilby! I wear it constantly (even now as I sit typing).
Trilbies are very verstaile hats - you can wear it high on your head, creating a raffish mid 50’s Sinatra look, or you can jam it down to just over your eyes, giving the “Joe Friday” effect. I mix and match to suit my mood.
Man, am I gonna get me some chicks with this hat. Life sure is good with a Trilby.
So, any other Doper trilby owners? Or anyone else want to share favourite hat stories?

I love hats. I used to wear 'em all the time - floppy velvet creations that were very “in” in the early nineties - but got of the habit again. This winter though, Ima get me a new hat.
I’m having some problems, though. What I want is a beret. What all the shops seem to have are either baker boy caps, which I loathe because they make everyone loke like escapees from Oliver!, and huge, floppy-brimmed Joan Baez style things, which I like but which are a bit more of a statement than I’m willing to make.

I think I want a trilby! I’ve been looking for a long time for the “perfect” hat that goes with either a suit or casual clothes, for warm or cool weather, and I think that’s what I’ve been searching for.

Unfortunately, I’m not sure how well it’d hold up in lovely soggy Seattle. (you can tell what kinda weather we have today)
I wonder if a Barmah hat would work for me? Ghu knows I need something to stop my glasses getting all streaky.
