My newest book has just been published: Birds of Panama

Since some people have expressed interest before, I’d like to share that I’ve just had my newest book published: The Birds of Panama: A Field Guide. I’ve been working on it 3 1/2 years (or, depending on how you look at it, 33 years, since that’s how long I’ve been studying birds in Panama). It’s a big relief now that it’s out.

My collaborator, the artist Robert Dean, has had an interesting career, having started out as a rock guitarist before switching to nature art.

Sweet!

That is truly awesome. I’m very happy for you.

Is there any way to purchase a signed copy?

Congratulations. The birds on the cover look charming.

Not directly from Amazon, so it might have to be sent back and forth to Panama. PM me.

You’re giving copies to all your fellow mods, right? Or just those of us who are president of your fan club?

Congratulations! Now I have a reason to take a vacation in Panama ;).

Thanks. It’s a pair of Blue Cotingas, one of our loveliest species.

Panama is now up to 978 species, more than all of North America north of Mexico.

Once it hits the Times Best Seller list, sure.

Lots of other reasons to come to Panama. In fact, there’s a lot more to offer here than in Costa Rica. Let me know when you’re booking.

Great news Colibri! Congratulations and I hope it sells hella well.
