My noisy, inconsiderate neighbors......don't bother me?

I don’t know why, but I must have the most inconsiderate neighbors. They play loud music (and bad music at that), but why doesn’t it irk me? I mean when I lived in the dorms my freshman year, it bothered me to NO END! But now? I don’t know I just don’t care. They manage to have the same sleep schedule as me and it doesnt interfere with sleep.

Its pretty funny though. In my apartment complex, if you call the head office for noise violations, they call the cops. This guy got a ticket once, and went around trying to figure out who got it! I have thought at times that I should call, so he’ll get another one, becuase he’ll knock it off, but really I just don’t feel like it. He is just ignorant of the fact that he is bothering other people, but if he’s not bothering me, then what’s the problem? I suppose if he bothers other’s its their problem…

I just thought about it because its strange because what used to bother me a lot doesn’t now… Maybe I’m just getting too mellow in my years (23).

I’ve been meaning to leave a note on the door of my upstairs neighbor. About 50% of the time on weekends, they leave their apt. before their alarm goes off, and so it goes off for hours on end until they come home and shut it off. Their bedroom is right above mine, and the noise is loud enough to wake me.

The thing I hated more than anything else when living in an apartment was music being played too loud. I used to get so worked up over it. In my mind the people that do that kind of thing are amoung the most inconsiderate bastards around. They have to know it irritates others around them and they do it anyway. Man I love owning a home!

Sorry, can’t relate. I’ve always slept through loud stuff. Barking dogs that drove the other neighbors nuts. Trains coupling in the middle of the night 50 yards from my front door. Other people snoring. My ex’s alarm (I didn’t have to get up until he was out of the shower - the sound of the water being turned off would wake me.)

The sound of the kids being up in the night would wake me immediately, though, when they were little. So I’m guessing that you’ve all discovered the SEP* zone. If the noise isn’t something you’re required to deal with, you don’t wake up.

Hmm. One thing could be was that when I lived in Germany I lived on the ground floor right next to a very busy avenue with huge trucks accelerating next to my door. Oh, and with no AC it was necessary to leave the door open!

Ugh…

I’m 35. Next door to me there is a house with an upstairs apartment that is full of what I believe are fraternity boys. At least, they act that way.

When it snows, they jump out the second floor window into snow drifts. They chill their beer hanging out the windows. They have wild parties every weekend and sometimes on week nights.

And they NEVER INVITE ME!!!

What did I ever do wrong!?

Dude (dudette?), just go over there with a 12 pack some time. Instant new friends!

Did I mention I’m 35? I don’t know if they want an “older woman” hanging around.

Then again, I guess I could be their designated buyer.

Seriously, it never bothers me that they’re noisy late at night or whatever. I turn on some white noise in my bedroom and drift off, dreaming of being one of the “popular kids.”

Have you ever seen The Graduate?

Those young boys have got stamina…

What’s wrong with being 35? It’s a very sexy age.

It’s great being 35. I just don’t know how comfortable I’d feel doing beer bongs with a bunch of 19 year old boys. Then again…

This qualifies as a hijack, doesn’t it? I’m really sorry.

Just to stay on track, once again I will say, the noise never interferes with my life.
